Golem Maker Emoticons

As promised, not a gesture drawing. But it is still golem makers. In order is the 3 of Swords, Alice, and the Toymaker. Ya'll can see their gesture drawings again :D
This was kind of a turning point for me. You see, I had been itching to do a comic and at the time this story was just swirling around in my head. I wanted to start by drawing out the LJ emoticons and I was showing this off to Steve, explaining the story as I did so. He told me 'that seems kind of complex, you sure you want to do that for a webcomic?' or it was 'your first comic' or something but it got me thinking. So I threw out a couple of ideas I had for strip comics and he pulled out the one that was about this kid who didn't get into any colleges, no real plans for the future, goes to this party, gets drunk and wakes up as a vampire. Sound familiar >:3
Just a little hint for what's to come. . .

PS. I love how the toymaker came out in this. I know I said earlier that his story is better told through his expressions rather than his body language and when I drew this I came to a startling realization: He's a total asshole! A complete dick! The definition of douche! The reason I was so pleased with this is cause I love the characters who are just straight up jerks, ecspecially if they're creepy. For example: Ichimaru Gin from Bleach, Rorschack from Watchmen, Marquis de Carabas from Neverwhere, Barbas from Charmed (shut up!). I could go on. But I won't. Long post script is long.

Three of Swords Gestures

AKA Beezle Holliston. To some of you that may mean something, to others, well, you ain't paying close enough attention. Or just don't care. That's okay. All ya'll need to know is that he's another golem maker (*shock*) who is notorious for the best battle golems who have proven to be ruthless in their tasks. Also he sleeps sitting up.
And most importantly: this is the last gesture drawing! Throw a party!

Tessie Gestures

AHAHAHA And we're back with more of this crap! Sorry about all the gesture drawings guys, but I guess I kind of went on a binge there when I had this sketchbook. But don't worry, when it comes to it, I'll skip over the SaH page layouts. Those are just as boring and you've already seen them all in their finished format by this point anyways.
Back to the fucking topic, there Scrumpy. Tessie is, surprise surprise, yet another golem maker. I kind of had to search for her back story but when I found it it seemed to write itself. Her dad was a mechanic and wanted his offspring to follow in his footsteps. Tessie didn't have much of a knack for machines, but rather golems. So she went off to school for golem making and made golems that only looked like machines to trick her father. He eventually figured it out (after a good while however) but was proud of her regardless.
Only one more gesture drawing after this! I promise~!

I Swear to Drunk I'm Not God

I determined that, at least once, I need to draw while drunk. This is what came out. The first picture is clearly December. . . but its wrong. Very very wrong. I mean, it looks really strange huh? And I'm not even going to try to justify whatever the hell that second one is. And that's all I have to say on that

Study Buddy from Europa

Back in 8th grade, when I was just starting to draw anime in an obsessive compulsive manner, I would draw this dude on the side of my notes. Granted at the time he was an inch large chibi drawing with no real facial features and the clothes weren't well designed and it was a LOT worse, but still, there he was. My study buddy from Europa (I had a major hard on for astrnomy).
So one day in class, now in college, he just comes up in the page of my sketchbook, full body and more detailed. . . and with some actual anatomy. I cropped it off the picture but I wrote on the side "Wow. . . I haven't drawn him in like, what, 8 years?"
Side note: when I drew him out, a grad student in my class, who is like fucking good at medical illustration, leaned over and said 'what you drawing?' 'Oh just doodling' 'you're really good at doodling' 'uhm, thanks?' 'I mean it. I could never do that'. Then I just kind of gave him this OMG YOU'RE KIDDING look. B/c I mean, come on, this is not all that great. But it kind of boosts the small voice in my head that says 'GET A JOB IN COMICS!'

Gawd Bros. Gestures

I know ya'll must be sick and tired of these gestures by now. What can I say? They're quick, easy, fun, and a huge help to my art. But anyways, there's this one and a break from gestures for a while and then 2 more and then after that its. . . well I won't give it all away.
Anyways, these are the Gawd Bros. More golem makers, as per usual. I know it might be hard to tell in these quick little doodles, but the boys are conjoined at the hand. They're siamese twins. . . in a way I suppose. I had far to much fun creating them. I got their names (Faereweather and Cruicshank) from a Scottish patent law firm. Don't ask. Again: you really don't want to know.

Nineveh Gestures

And here we are again with the gesture drawings. I hope ya'll don't mind. This here is Nineveh, yet another golem maker. He is the most youngest maker on the Parliment of Truth. . . . well in appearance that is. Tee Hee. I actually love is story line and I love his golems more. He's well known for making golems that appear solid out of not solid objects. Like fire, or water, or light. . . or something else. Again: tee hee.

Crowquill Bill

Some of ya'll may know Bill. I love Bill. He's my crazy psyco killer character who really doesn't know anything but. So, chya, I give him a story line that involves love and exploring feelings. I am a Silent Hill fan after all (if you don't get it, don't worry about it. You really don't want to go there. Biggest nerds ever). Anyways, I'm fond of Bill's story but I don't think it'll fit in with the world so I leave it to my head cause I have no real way of dressing it up gracefully and putting it out in front of an audience. But Bill's character design is still one of my favorites (as simple as it is compared to most characters I have) so I use him in multiple stories. Like the Pitt for example. Or possibly in SaH, hm?

Oh and as promised, no gesture drawings today. Will be back on that wagon tomorrow, sorry ^^

Alice Gestures

This lovely figure would be Alice from the golem plot line. If you can recall (I know it was a while ago that I mentioned it) she is December's girl friend thing. For some odd reason she is highly attracted to him. But I think she makes cute poses and really shows off her curves, even try to over exaggerate them to make them seem more dramatic. That is just the kind of girl she is.

Next time I post it won't be gestures. A nice break inbetween though, nothing more sorry ;-;

Zuu Gestures, Toymaker Gestures

Heh, I missed a day, sorry about that. But here's yesterday's sketch. Its more of those gesture drawings that I told you about. This one is Zuu, Mae's close friend and another golem maker. I think I only drew golem makers with these gesture drawings in this particular sketch book. Anywho, Zuu specializes in mass producing golems as he is one of the quicker golem makers. His poses are generally animalistic and I noticed that they're like a more relaxed version of the poses December will sometimes be in. One of these poses will show up in a sketch later.

This is the toymaker. He has glasses. He's also a golem maker. Who wears glasses. I love those glasses can't you tell? They pierce the bridge of his nose instead of having the thingies that go to the ears. Shush I'm tired! This is the least favorite of my gesture drawings. Toymaker doesn't really tell his stories through gestures as he does through his facial expressions, which is a shame. I tried at least.

Mae Gestures

In a class I took I learned a nifty tool of taking 5 minutes out of my day and just filling a page up with gestures. ONLY 5 minutes. Nothing more and I would never want anything less. It gets a bit of emotion really into the character, one that would never see the light of day had I been playing it safe. It also reintroduces me to the character by getting what I have written and thought about so many times into a drawing.
Ya'll remember Mae, ya? This is a page full of straight up gesture drawings of her. She's kind of egotistical and it shows in this picture. She does not like to lose.
Also, quite sorry for the page of doodles that I did in 5 minutes. There will be a lot of those upcoming.

Chibi December

In light of yesterday's picture with the tiny December at the bottom, I promptly drew him chibi again. Now keep in mind the amount of time it took for me to jump from yesterday's post and todays. It won't take much math. Here's a clue: I was in class. Yup. So that means it must of took me about a grand total of 5 seconds to come up with this. Well I had to turn the page, sheesh.

D is not too happy about being drawn in these pictures, and apparently going chibi means he's a little smaller and lacks a nose. Yeah I wasn't too crazy about it either. But Alice was, as she was screaming in my head. That would be Alice with her hands up on the bottom of the sketch. She's D's lady friend.

December in Blue

Ah, December. He is my sweet heart. My dream. My absolute favorite character that I have made up. I always seem to revert back to him when I can't think of anything to draw. Him and Ziki. And no December does not hate his life. . . most of the time.
I am one of those strange writer's/artists that talks to her characters in her head. Sometimes my characters do not feel like being drawn. That day, D did NOT want to be drawn. So I drew him again! :D And the little thing in the corner saying 'Aw come on December' . . .yeah that would be me.

Kaku Crap

The unfortunate part of uploading every page that I have in this sketchbook is that sometimes I put up the crappy pages. But yeah, that's for your unfortunate and not mine. I've already seen this shit too many times anyways.

As for the actual content, that blue scribble. . . yeah I don't know what that is. And there's an eye there somewhere. . . it looks frightened. And that angry looking face with the obviously fake eyeball is a character of mine that goes by the name of Kaku. He's a favored character. . . but that is a hideous picture of him. I mean, it has his basic features, the style of his hair, the eye, the expression. . . but its not him. Like the head is shaped wrong and the chin is wrong and the nose is wrong. . . I have no idea what the hell I was doing there.

Mae Inked

Another pic of Mae except this time I had inked it . . . or tried to. At the time I was recently reintroduced to the crowquill pen. This time, however, the pen was much kinder. Nicer. Treated me like a lady. Apparently it had gone to see a therapist or something. So I inked over a sketch I had in my sketch book. . . and promptly fucked it up. Its okay though, what I did get down looks pretty nice. . . . except the whole anatomy thing but whatever. I love that face she's making though. It says 'yeeeah, you fucked it up didn't ya. . . saw that one coming.'

Mae Sketch

Sorry I haven't posted in a while, I've been busy with the comic ^^

So anywho, here's a character from another comic I had been wanting to do about golems. Its a pretty well developed story in my head, but it would be far too difficult to do as an actual comic at this point in my life. But this here is a golem maker named Mae Stro. (Yes I know its a hideous pun, but I still didn't want to get rid of it.) She's actually one of my more favorite characters to write about and draw despite the fact that she's a complete bitch ^^

Do You Liek Brittney Yet?

Again, if you follow my DA account and, even then, if you follow my sketches, you have already seen this. DA was doing this thing where everyone drew a mudkip for april fools. This was actually the 2nd sketch I did. I had colored in the third which was one mudkip ass humping another. I think the guy in the pic was supposed to be Dr. Oak when I started. It can be Normand Skeenly instead. Your choice. (For those of you following SaH, you don't know good ole Norm yet. He's Chris' dad.)

The Playwrite, April Fools, and Prodigious

So this was supposed to go up on Friday. Its the first sketch in the sketchbook for a brief idea that I had going in my head for less than a week. He's the Playwrite. And this is about how far that idea went. Yup.

The april fools day pic. You can actually see the finished one up on my DA site. It has an orange circle that goes with it. Thats my feeble attempt at a background.
So anyways, I don't think anyone who doesn't know me or follow my art would get this. But the joke is that its me and Ziki in December style. I liked the sketch so I finished it.

A sketch I did in my sequential art class. I don't know what that sketch is at top, but the 2 bottom sketches are Izzy and Joe from Digimon. First and best season. I don't care, Forkl, the first season was the best!!! There were no cards!
When I first saw the show I was in love with Matt. But I entered middle school and soon gave up the 'pretty boy' for the nerds. This trend would continue until present day hee.
And the note says 'why do I remember how they look' b/c I did that from the goodness of my own memory.
